I have this, um, acquaintance of mine who keeps writing about what she's planning to draw and making polls and writing 'i can draw what i want so don't complain' in artist's comments, as if anyone ever did. as if anyone commented. So annoying.

Not saying you're wrong, but as one of those people who has no self confidence I just wanted to mark that telling them to grow some guts is just gonna make them hate themselves more :,) It's like that for me, anyway.
I'm getting much better now, I don't particulary care much anymore if nobody will see my pictures because I'm drawing fanart of a game nobody knows/cares about. I love it and will draw fanart. But I know very very well by experience how hard it is to stop caring when your confidence is so low. It's not everybody but some people really are just being honest :/ And in that case, it's not like they're like that because they like it.

Just giving my opinion~

i dont think its really about a matter of self confidence when you have 500+ watchers supporting what you do and you only care about those 10 retards that have nothing else to do but bash your art hiding behind a screen
is disrespectful for the people that supports you, that loves your art no matter who you are
i get low self confidence attacks every now and then, and i have my own doubts about my style, improvement and whatnot
but i dont complain to the people that supports me; if the time comes when i stop doing art for myself and do it for the people that truly cares about my art, then i will do my best to please them; that alone will be enough for me to have the guts to ignore retards that just arent worth it.

hmmmmm great point. a little harsh but good point. i think the greatest love is the one that stings, hurts, and criticizes - bcz its completely honest. that's awesome.

iono if I am one of those supported artists BUT you always leave me niiiice comments (since day one) so I thank you for it!
